I LOVE the beach.
I love the breeze coming in from the ocean.
I love the ability to just lay on the sand and not have a care in the world.
I love being able to sit outside on the balcony at night.
I love being able to find neat little seashells wherever you look.
If you haven't guessed by now, the beach is my favorite place to go at any point of the year.
I had the opportunity to go for a 2nd time with my brother, his wife and children, and his best friend's family.
Let me just say, a week at the beach with them is pretty much a week that you will never forget. I went down with them as the "babysitter" for the week. In other terms, I was the play buddy with the children while the parents chilled out and got some sun.
Let's just say our week didn't begin as well as we thought it should have.
We arrived at Long Bay Resort that Sunday afternoon, to find out that we were shafted of an "amazing" room. The beds were not the full sizes that we had asked for. There was a leak in the ceiling of one of the bathrooms, which caused a huge flood on the floor. All in all, the room was not what they ordered. So me and the other babysitter took the 4 children down to the pool to splash around and play until the parents got the whole room situation figured out. We find out a couple of hours later that we would have to stay the night in this room, but we would move into a better room that following morning and be reimbursed for this room.
The next morning we packed all of our luggage into 4 luggage carts and moved into our new room. This room was much more to our liking and was able to fit 10 people much better. We were reimbursed for that night that was spent in the old room, and we used it to go out to Medieval Times the next night. After moving, the week just got better and better each day. The children were like little energizer bunnies and somehow, which I have yet to figure out, they seemed to never be running out of energy.
Every morning, we would wake up to my brother's best friend's, Duane, amazing breakfast. This man sure does know how to cook! Then after breakfast we would load up and head to either the beach or the pool for a couple of hours. We would come in for lunch around 12 or 1, but only for a little bit cause we would head right back out to have more fun at the pool or beach. Each night, minus 2 of them, we would cook in and have amazing dinners prepared. Even after eating dinner, the children and babysitters would put their bathing suits back on and go back out with the parents onto the beach. Almost every night but 2 or 3, we would order out pizza around 9 or 10, but each night was a different pizza place.
All in all, that week was simply amazing. I got to go hang out with my brother and his family, and play with my 2 favorite nieces, who are 3 and 8. They are hilarious and always know how to have fun no matter where they are at. Of course I wish I could have stayed down there at the beach with everyone, but I did miss my bed, cat, parents, and friends.
Here are some pictures from the week:

There were also some hilarious insiders that came from this beach trip. Two of my favorite are "Bawling Puppies", and "We can both look at the menu, you just can order from it."
