simple movie love.

Tonight me and the best friend went to see this movie.
I absolutely LOVED it! Yeah, it was the cheesy romance type of movie but I love those types, along with the gory and action filled ones. They are awesome in their own little ways.

But back to the movie tonight.
The movie began with these two people Jamie (played by Mila Kunis) and Dylan (played by Justin Timberlake) who were dumped by others and filled with bad emotions about relationships. Jamie and Dylan meet each other when Jamie talks Dylan into moving to New York for a job. Their friendship takes off from there. They confide in each other about everything going wrong in their life and find out that they have been hurt and "emotionally damaged" by other people. They just want the friendship that had the benefits along with it but no emotions. Of course that can only work for so long. Jamie tells Dylan that she wanted that type of relationship that was like a fairytale where the guy would run to prevent her from doing something and would pour his heart out to her in front of a bunch of people. Of course Dylan is too scared for things to get intimate between them, so when he takes Jamie to meet his family, he realizes that he doesn't want to be friends with benefits anymore and says those hurtful things to Jamie. She hears this and runs away. When they see each other again they have that big fight and show each other that they do care about the other but don't want to show it. Once Dylan realizes that he does want to have a real relationship with Jamie, he has messed up so he provides her with the fairytale that she always wanted.

I love watching these movies, even though you can pretty much guess what's going to happen next. It makes you dream that this is the type of relationship that you want. To have that prince charming to come and "sweep you off your feet" is something I have always wanted. Of course this only happens in movies. But I do dream that one day there will be a guy that will love me for me and not take advantage of me. For now though, I will just enjoy life and I know that one guy will come one day.

But that's enough of me ranting about movie love. Goodnight :).

simple beach trip round 2.

I LOVE the beach.
I love the breeze coming in from the ocean.
I love the ability to just lay on the sand and not have a care in the world.
I love being able to sit outside on the balcony at night.
I love being able to find neat little seashells wherever you look.
If you haven't guessed by now, the beach is my favorite place to go at any point of the year.

I had the opportunity to go for a 2nd time with my brother, his wife and children, and his best friend's family.
Let me just say, a week at the beach with them is pretty much a week that you will never forget. I went down with them as the "babysitter" for the week. In other terms, I was the play buddy with the children while the parents chilled out and got some sun.

Let's just say our week didn't begin as well as we thought it should have.
We arrived at Long Bay Resort that Sunday afternoon, to find out that we were shafted of an "amazing" room. The beds were not the full sizes that we had asked for. There was a leak in the ceiling of one of the bathrooms, which caused a huge flood on the floor. All in all, the room was not what they ordered. So me and the other babysitter took the 4 children down to the pool to splash around and play until the parents got the whole room situation figured out. We find out a couple of hours later that we would have to stay the night in this room, but we would move into a better room that following morning and be reimbursed for this room.
The next morning we packed all of our luggage into 4 luggage carts and moved into our new room. This room was much more to our liking and was able to fit 10 people much better. We were reimbursed for that night that was spent in the old room, and we used it to go out to Medieval Times the next night. After moving, the week just got better and better each day. The children were like little energizer bunnies and somehow, which I have yet to figure out, they seemed to never be running out of energy.
Every morning, we would wake up to my brother's best friend's, Duane, amazing breakfast. This man sure does know how to cook! Then after breakfast we would load up and head to either the beach or the pool for a couple of hours. We would come in for lunch around 12 or 1, but only for a little bit cause we would head right back out to have more fun at the pool or beach. Each night, minus 2 of them, we would cook in and have amazing dinners prepared. Even after eating dinner, the children and babysitters would put their bathing suits back on and go back out with the parents onto the beach. Almost every night but 2 or 3, we would order out pizza around 9 or 10, but each night was a different pizza place.
All in all, that week was simply amazing. I got to go hang out with my brother and his family, and play with my 2 favorite nieces, who are 3 and 8. They are hilarious and always know how to have fun no matter where they are at. Of course I wish I could have stayed down there at the beach with everyone, but I did miss my bed, cat, parents, and friends.
Here are some pictures from the week:

allee glenn. my absolute favorite of her.

playing the color game.

just floating around with her was so much fun.

roybeth. my absolute favorite of her.

the lazy river was allee glenn's, or bean, favorite thing to do.

There were also some hilarious insiders that came from this beach trip. Two of my favorite are "Bawling Puppies", and "We can both look at the menu, you just can order from it."

I just want to thank my brother for taking me to the beach and allowing me to spend some quality time with him, whereas this coming fall I will not have the chance as much because of college. Everytime you put me and my brother together anywhere, we never have a dull moment and always laugh until we are crying. We know how to have a good time, and I am sure going to miss him next year. He will just have to make some visits to Charlotte and I will most definitely make some visits home to see him. I love you Michael, thank you so much for everything! :)

simple prayers answered.

I want to first off apologize for my terrible blogging. I was able to spend a week at the beach with my brother and his family (blog coming soon), and I had NO time to blog.

Anyways, today was a day of mixed emotions. My father had to undergo surgery to have his parathyroids removed. To put it simple, my dad had surgery on his neck. Last night as I was going to bed, I prayed to God that he would take care of my father during his surgery. I have never been more nervous about one of my family members going under the knife than I was for dad.

Backstory:
Back in March/April, my dad went to the doctor for a checkup and found some things wrong with him. They didn't know exactly what was wrong, just that something was. Dad then went through tons of tests, to find out that his body was producing too much calcium, and he would have to have his parathyroids removed. Before this day came, dad was growing much more tired and running out of energy much more quickly than normal. I knew something wasn't right and I just prayed that this surgery would help him gain more energy.

Back to today:
This morning dad went for surgery at 6:30. He would be under until 9:30, and I didn't get to see him until 11:30ish. Mom took him this morning and my brother and I came down right after he came out of surgery. Mom told us that the doctor had told her about what all went down. Dad's parathyroid's on one side were very enlarged, and his thyroid had a malignant nodule on it. They just went ahead and took out the entire thyroid and said that they had removed all of the cancer. They did leave the other thyroid so dad will not have to take any medication. He does have to stay overnight but if everything goes well tonight he will be able to come home in the morning.

I just thank God that he was watching over my dad today during surgery and that they found the cancer and removed it immediately. God answered my prayers today and I'm thankful to have such a loving God that shows us how precious life is. He helps us to not take everything for granted and to be grateful for the little things in life.

simple sales&softball

This past Thursday I was asked to help out with yearbook ad sales. These two hilarious ladies, Aerika and Haley needed a ride and some tips on how selling business ads.

So after picking up Haley from her house at around 11:30ish, we made our way to Mount Airy to pick up Aerika from volunteering at the hospital, and went towards 89, their territory, to attempt to make some money for the yearbook next year.

We started at a pawn shop, then just went from there. We traveled up and down 89 in an attempt to sale. Unfortunately they sold one but had two more businesses to promise that they would purchase an ad.

their first sale.

The day was a day of success. These two ladies sold their first ad, had their first experience in selling ads, which I personally think they learned alot, from what to say exactly and how to say it with confidence, and had an amazing time riding around in Mount Airy.

Here are a few pictures from the day:

After dropping Haley off back at her house, Aerika and I continued the day with just hanging out at her house, going to get my nails polished, and riding all over Pilot showcasing her dancing skills.

Later on that day, say around 7, I got to practice my favorite sport with this tight-knit group of girls.

All in all it was a fabulous day of laughter, fun, and memory making. I am so thankful that God has brought these people into my life. They are all amazing in their own little ways and I'm so thankful for each of them.
