I'm sorry and vow to blog on time.
Last week I made the commitment to blog about that week and to share it with one of my friends whom I had lost contact with. We actually started talking again, slowly at first, but it's better now. Also, things are starting to look up for them. This week I made the commitment to patch things up with my family. We have been getting into arguments lately and it shouldn't be happening. We are all adjusting to me moving away to college and it just has been tough to deal with. Hopefully things will start looking up and we can all adjust to my moving away. Cross your fingers.
This week we watched the Jim Munroe video.
He is a magician and there was a time in his life where he was questioning God and all of his wonders. He just thought it to be a magic trick. Jim was diagnosed with lukemia and the rarest form of it. He had a slim chance of surviving. He was in major need of a bone marrow transplant.Since he had the rarest form of this cancer, he needed the absolute perfect match. The doctors found only one match, a 19 year old girl. She was more than happy to donate for his cause. Once he went through the tests to prepare for this transplant, and his body accepted this new blood, he went back to his normal lifestyle and is currently in remission. He knows that God made him anew and helped him to be born again. He understands that God works in mysterious ways and will come to you even at your lowest point in your life. God was walking beside and with Jim his entire life, Jim just didn't realize it until the transplant took place. Jim was so thankful that this girl donated for him, and knows that this was the works of God.
The reading from this week is a story where Jesus talks to Nicodemus about how to reach the kingdom of God. (It's a little long just to let you know.)
Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him."
Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."
Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?"
Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.'
The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."
Nicodemus said to him, "How can these things be?"
Jesus answered him, "Are you not the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things?
Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen, but you do not receive our testimony.
If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God."
John 3:1-18.
I highly suggest watching this video. It's so inspirational.
